Four Mount Boucherie Secondary graduates submitted the following write-ups regarding Grad 2025.
Over the past four years at MBSS, I have been fortunate to learn from inspiring teachers, grow alongside amazing peers, and create unforgettable memories. These experiences have helped shape who I am, but more importantly, they have allowed me to find my voice as a leader. The grad class of 2025 has made a huge impact at MBSS, and I want to be able to recognize the work that we have done. To me, the role of Historian isnÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™t just about thinking back on the past four years, but about recognizing the importance of the impact weÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™ve left at MBSS. From becoming a UNESCO-recognized school to our senior boysÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™ basketball team making it to provincials, as well as the countless art awards and many more achievements, we have made our mark on MBSS. There is still much more to celebrate about our time at MBSS. It is such an honour and a privilege to use my voice as the MBSS honorary grad Historian to capture our journey, amplify our achievements, and speak on behalf of our graduating Class of 2025!
Anaka Fuller (MBSS Grad Historian)
As Valedictorian of the graduating Class of 2025, I feel an overwhelming amount of gratitude to be able to speak on behalf of my fellow peers. What an honour it is to represent such a strong group of students and the accomplishments that they have achieved. Many of us have been counting down the days from kindergarten to when we would reach this milestone, and move onto greater things, that we oftentimes forgot to enjoy the little moments. From making friends on the playground, to discovering the people we want to be, we have grown and are now able to come together one last time to celebrate the success of each other. Running for an honorary role was a privilege, and to be awarded the role of Valedictorian is even greater. I hope that in the little time left together, I can help voice the excitement and passion of the graduating students while we follow our own paths, wherever that takes us.
-Delaney Neukomm (Valedictorian 2025)
Growing up, change has always been a part of my life. I've had to move several different times to various cities, learning to rebuild my sense of "home" and adapt to new neighbors, schools, and communities. While change can be difficult, it has taught me something extremely valuable. Change brings growth and amazing opportunities. To me, the futurist is a student who brings positivity, creativity, and inclusivity to our graduating class as we get ready to embark on our own unique journeys.
As we prepare for the next chapter, it's natural to feel uncertain about what will come next and the changes we will face, but the futurist reminds us that we are in this together. I've learned to embrace change and my experiences, and by celebrating our achievements and supporting one another, we can step into the future with confidence.
Misha Pikola (Grad Futurist)
The role of a Holistic Learner is to exemplify balance in oneÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s life. Going to school at Mount Boucherie, I have met many inspiring individuals, from students to teachers, who have taught me many lessons, allowing me to explore what I believe it means to live a balanced life. For myself, I have found what it means to have balance as a student, an athlete, a daughter and sister, as well as a friend and an Indigenous woman. I chose to run for Holistic Learner of our grad class, as I felt it would give me an opportunity to share the impact that the class has had on me, while hopefully inspiring others further with the lessons I have learned. I cannot wait to see what the future holds, and I am extremely fortunate to be a part of it.
