A Vernon window and door company is looking to open more ways to give back to its community.

KT Fairglass created its Community Give Back Project to take the support and kindness it receives from customers and suppliers, and pay it forward to those in the community who are less fortunate, but who also deserve the health and comfort new windows can provide.

The company's goal is to help one family every month, with its expanding list of partners, and provide needed new windows free of charge.

"The biggest impact always starts small with an idea and some inertia," said KT co-founder Todd Embley. "Now we香蕉视频直播檙e off and running, and the sky香蕉视频直播檚 the limit. We would love more nominations."

Part of the issue, said Embley, is that people have trouble asking for help, feeling ashamed or embarrassed.

A lady named Laura nominated her landlord ,who owns a house near Fulton Secondary School.

Tammy Hawkins, a grocery store clerk, inherited her childhood home a few years ago. Hawkins admits she has trouble asking for help, but her tenant, Laura, stepped up and contacted KT Fairglass about two cracked windows in the house. They were beyond Hawkins' ability to take care of, especially as she recovered from brain surgery in late 2024.

With help from partners Milgard Windows and Doors, installer James Hyer was able to replace two windows with new, safer versions.

"It's amazing there are people like Todd that do things like this for people," said an emotional Hawkins as the work was being done. "The new windows will help the home immensely. The old windows were letting cold air and moisture in, and probably a few insects as well."
