The Last Wednesday tour came to Kelowna on... a Wednesday. 

Longtime independent American rapper Chris Webby entertained hundreds inside the cozy confines of Distrikt Nightclub, on May 7 as part of his The Last Wednesday tour.

Webby, born in Connecticut, has been a staple of the underground rap scene since 2009, with his numerous mixtapes and albums garnering thousands of streams. 

His Best in the Burbs mixtape released in 2010, shut down the DatPiff website, an online audio distribution platform. Since the switch to streaming, his in-your-face rap style modelled after legends such as Eminem, Mac Miller and DMX garnered him tons of fans. 

Webby was last in Kelowna in 2023 when he sold out the then Gotham Nightclub, and, as to be expected he did it again in 2025. 

"Kelowna, you guys are going crazy on Wednesday," he shouted, after hopping on stage at 11 p.m., following the three opening artists.

Whitney Peyton first took the stage at about 9 p.m., with her fast-rapping style entertaining a crowd of 600.

Next up to perform was Grieves, the Chicago-based hip-hop artist who also brought a blend of fast-paced, melodic rhyming. 

Ekoh followed Grieves, as a young up-and-comer, Ekoh got the fans in a frenzy for the man of the hour Chris Webby.

The 36-year-old lyrically flexed for over 90 minutes, playing old hits (Left Lane), new hits (Back on my BS), and everything in between.

"You guys were incredible tonight, and it might be my favourite show of the tour," he said, before exiting the stage just before 1 a.m. 

The Last Wednesday Tour continues with shows in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina and Winnipeg.
