Trailside Transitional Housing celebrated its one-year anniversary on Wednesday, June 11.
Neighbours, local businesses, staff, and residents came together for a community clean-up and a barbecue, turning the day into a meaningful mix of giving back and enjoying time together.
Trailside, which opened in May 2024, is run by Turning Points Collaborative Society and is located along Highway 97 North.
The event saw a strong show of community support, especially from nearby businesses. Banner Recreation and Marine pitched by donating all the food for the BBQ.
In just one year, Trailside has supported more than 100 individuals. Of those, 30 people have successfully transitioned into more stable living situations. That includes 20 residents who found market, affordable, or supportive housing; four who reunited with family; four who entered long-term treatment programs; and two who moved into assisted living or long-term care.
