Cpl. Michael Gauthier is set to take on the role of keeping the Rutland community safe.
The Kelowna RCMP's Community Safety Unit (CSU) is responsible for complex issues mostly in the city's downtown core as well as Rutland. Starting May 5, Gauthier will be the dedicated supervisor for the Rutland community.
Currently part of the Media Relations Unit, Gauthier will now be working out of the RCMP's Rutland office with his new duties including increasing visibility, community engagement, the implementation of crime prevention strategies and working closely with the City of Kelowna香蕉视频直播檚 Community Safety Services Branch and Uptown Rutland Business Association (URBA).

Gauthier enters the role with 16 years of police experience. After previously spending four years with the CSU, he became the Kelowna RCMP's media relations officer in 2023.
