Kelowna's Chute Lake Road to close for construction work

'A full road closure allows the work to be completed faster, safer and at a lower cost'

A section of Chute Lake Road will be closed for approximately two months for the final phases of construction on the Frost Road extension and Chute Lake Road roundabout.

The closure, between Barnaby Road and South Crest Drive, will begin Aug. 6 with detours available via Lakeshore Road or Barnaby Road.

A full road closure allows the work to be completed faster, safer and at a lower cost, according to a City of Kelowna media release.

A temporary pathway will be in place for pedestrians and cyclists, and emergency access will be maintained.

The city says the Frost Road extension and Chute Lake Road roundabout project will expand transportation options, streamline traffic and improve safety.

The project will also bring improvements to the neighbourhood including new sidewalks and a multi-use pathway, street lighting and upgrades to water and storm utilities.
