Kelowna香蕉视频直播檚 mayor says new task force targets growth in key economic sectors

Kelowna香蕉视频直播檚 mayor says a new Community Task Force on Economic Prosperity will aim to strengthen the city香蕉视频直播檚 business, employment and tourism sectors.

香蕉视频直播淓conomic development is one of council香蕉视频直播檚 priorities,香蕉视频直播 Tom Days said at council香蕉视频直播檚 June 9 meeting. 香蕉视频直播淎 strong and resilient local economy supports quality of life and generates opportunity.香蕉视频直播

The mayor will lead the task force, which will include a legal expert, economic and real estate specialists, a tech sector representative, a financial sector representative, a retail or restaurant industry member, a partnership development expert, councillor Luke Stack, and a member of the public. 

Over the next 10 months, it will look at current city policies and programs, talk to local businesses and community groups, find gaps in Kelowna香蕉视频直播檚 economy that could be filled, and suggest ways to attract new investment and partnerships. 

香蕉视频直播淲e have seen some success in this model, this term,香蕉视频直播 Dyas added, pointing to the Mayor香蕉视频直播檚 Task Force on Crime Reduction, and the Community Task Force of Performing Arts. 

香蕉视频直播淭he Task Force on Economic Prosperity will follow that same approach because we know that a strong local economy does not happen by accident,香蕉视频直播 the mayor said.

The task force will meet regularly and report back to council twice香蕉视频直播攐nce at the halfway point and again at the end of the 10-month term. If needed, the term could be extended.
