The popular Lake Countree program is back, and residents can once again get their hands on a tree for just $50.
Now in its fourth year, the initiative offers one tree per household at a discounted rate to encourage homeowners to grow and preserve the community香蕉视频直播檚 urban forest canopy. The District of Lake Country covers $100 of the cost, meaning residents pay only $50, including GST.

Pick-up day is set for Sept 13 at Kel Lake Garden Centre on Shanks Road, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All trees come in 10-gallon pots and are roughly 6 to 12 feet tall.
Trees soak up carbon dioxide, cool down homes and streets, filter stormwater, improve air quality, and provide shade. They also boost mental well-being, support wildlife, and help prevent erosion.
