A recycling truck didn't suffer any damage after its contents caught fire inside the back of the vehicle on Wednesday morning.
Around 10:20 a.m. on July 23, the Kelowna Fire Department (KFD) received calls of a recycling truck on fire in the 300 block of Ziprick Road.
The fire was contained to the contents in the back of the truck and dumped out in the Springvalley Middle School parking lot, where crews could extinguish the flames.
An excavator was brought in to separate and break smouldering pieces of the recycling materials, which were mostly cardboard.
KFD responded with two engines. No one was injured.
