A stream bank protection project next to the Mission Creek Greenway in Scenic Canyon Regional Park starts on Aug. 18.
The work is taking place near the Hollywood Road South parking lot (2080 Hollywood Rd S) to stabilize an eroding section of the creek bank and help preserve the integrity of the Greenway.
A Regional District Central Okanagan media release says that while the project area is close to the trail, impact on public access will be minimal. Signage and fencing will be installed to keep visitors safely away from the top of the slope where work is taking place.
The project is expected to run through mid-September. The Mission Creek Greenway will remain open, with only short, intermittent closures as needed for public safety.
