The Regional District Central Okanagan (RDCO) hosts its annual free tire collection event on Sept. 6.
Since 2016, this program has kept more than 14,000 unwanted tires out of yards and fields where they could hold water and create perfect mosquito breeding sites.
The Saturday, Sept. 6 event takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Okanagan College (Kelowna) parking lot off West Campus Road.
Bring any old or unused tires on or off rims at no cost. Please clean them of dirt and debris before dropping them off. This event is for residential use only.
