Silent vigil for Kelowna's Bailey McCourt, 4 other women murdered by men

Members for the collective of Vancouver Rape Relief and Women's Shelter held a silent vigil on July 31, 2025 to honour five women killed by men in recent weeks in B.C.

A silent vigil was held in Vancouver on July 31, honouring five women, including Bailey McCourt, who were murdered by men in recent weeks in B.C.

Participants held a sign for each woman killed.

The 32-year-old McCourt, who was a mother to two daughters, was killed on July 4 in Kelowna. She and another woman were attacked by a man with a weapon in the parking lot of Mill Creek Crossing.

McCourt died of her injuries in hospital, while the second woman suffered serious injuries.

James Plover, McCourt香蕉视频直播檚 ex-husband, has been charged with second-degree murder.

Four other women, ranging in age from 40 to 80 years old, were also honoured.

Vancouver Rape Relief and Women香蕉视频直播檚 Shelter organized the vigil. 

In a statement, the organization called on the BC Coroner to 香蕉视频直播渃onduct an inquiry for every case of femicide and for effective supervision of men charged with domestic assault when they are released with bail conditions.香蕉视频直播
