The police incident that shut down the northbound lanes of Highway 97 on the W.R. Bennett Bridge has ended.
All lanes of traffic on the bridge are now open.
Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) were on Okanagan Lake at the time of the incident and responded to the area of the bridge by boat.
According to COSAR, they retrieved a bike from the water that might have been related to the police incident.
RCMP have not commented on the matter.
Traffic on the William Bennett Bridge is shut down heading north into Kelowna.
A southbound lane of Highway 97 on the bridge is also closed as emergency vehicles blocking the left lane.
Traffic has been at a standstill heading north since about 4:40 p.m.
A reporter on scene said five RCMP vehicles are parked on the bridge.
Drivers should expect delays.
