The City of West Kelowna has started flushing water mains in of the Rose Valley Water Service Area, and a precautionary water quality advisory is now in place for homes in that zone.
Crews began work Wednesday, July 16, and are expected to continue through Friday, July 25, with further street details to come for work beyond that date.

During flushing, residents may notice lower water pressure, and cloudy water or discolouration (turbidity).
The city says this is normal and should only happen briefly while mains are being flushed.
Tap water that appears cloudy or coloured should not be consumed. Instead, run the cold water tap for several minutes until it clears. If it's still discoloured after 10 minutes, call the city at 778-797-2246.
Flushing will take place weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with some evening or weekend work possible. Signs will be posted in affected areas, and you may see water trucks or crews working at hydrants.
It is also recommended that parents of infants in the Rose Valley area avoid using tap water for baby formula while flushing is underway.
