Parents and caregivers are picking their kids up from a Whitehorse daycare after an accidental bear spray discharge.
Three fire trucks, multiple ambulances and RCMP vehicles were on scene outside a daycare on Wilson Drive in the city's Granger neighbourhood this morning.
Children appeared to have been evacuated from the building and were sitting on the asphalt of a parking lot off Hamilton Boulevard shortly before 11 a.m. on May 14, according to a News reporter on scene.
Whitehorse firefighter Nicholas OÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™Carroll said one child got the worst of the accidental discharge and precautionary measures were being taken for other kids.
Yukon RCMP communications said by email that a child accidentally set off the canister.
