A man and woman were tracked down early this morning and found in possession of mail allegedly stolen from Peachland. The pair were delivered to jail and now face potential charges.

The West Kelowna RCMP were advised Dec. 12 at 2:51 a.m., that mail had allegedly been stolen from a community mail box in the 3800 block of Dryden Road in Peachland.

"Investigators learned that the suspects stole Canada Post bait mail as well," said Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey, in a press release.

"The bait mail led Canada Post Postal Inspectors and RCMP investigators directly to a red 2002 Oldsmobile Alero at a Shell gas station in the 2500 block of Dobbin Road in West Kelowna."

The two occupants of the suspect vehicle were taken into police custody without incident. Numerous pieces of  stolen mail, the bait mail and what police believed to be break-in tools were recovered from within the vehicle. The suspects were positively identified by police who determined that one of the suspects was allegedly breaching Court imposed conditions.
