Salmon Arm Fire and Rescue crews, as well as ambulances and a medivac helicopter, responded to a rural Salmon Arm property after a snowmobile crash trapped one man on Sunday, Feb. 2.
Between 2 and 3 p.m., first responders rushed to a large rural property on 60th Street SE in the South Canoe neighbourhood. According to Salmon Arm Fire Chief Brad Shirley, a snowmobile with three passengers on board crashed in a wooded part of the property. Shirley said the two children were able to free themselves from the wreck easily but a man was pinned by the sled.
Shirley said firefighters and rescue unit volunteers were able to free the man, who had broken ribs. They then hauled him up a steep and snow-covered bank using ropes and a stretcher before carrying him to the waiting ambulance.
A helicopter had been called as a precaution but wasn香蕉视频直播檛 required.
