Injured horseback rider rescued by Penticton, Princeton search crews

Penticton and District Search and Rescue was called to assist with a helicopter long line extraction.

An injured horseback rider was assisted via helicopter between Keremeos and Princeton on Tuesday (July 9). 

Penticton and Princeton search and rescue teams worked together to help the individual, who was located in the Ashnola area.

The horseback rider was stuck in a remote location with their injury, according to Princeton Ground Search and Rescue. 

Penticton and District Search and Rescue was later called to assist with a helicopter long line.

"We extend our sincere thanks to Penticton SAR, the family members of the subject who played a key role in the initial response, and all the supporting agencies who helped ensure a safe and successful outcome," the Princeton rescue team said in a social media post.
