Summerland musician releases 1st album

5-song extended play features original compositions

A Summerland musician has created her first rock album.

Katarina Nicole has released Serene in the Violent Oceans, a five-song extended play album created and recorded in the Okanagan.

The album features Nicole singing, with Jordan Chase on bass and back-up vocals, Colton Douglas on guitar, and Ryan Loerke on drums. The musicians on the album are studio musicians.

The album was produced at Oodelally Recordings in West Kelowna. Artwork for the CDs and vinyl was created by Kevin Moore at Soft Surrogate in West Kelowna.

Singles from the album have been released since September, but the entire album was released on Feb. 22, with a release show held at Crown and Thieves in West Kelowna at The Broken Hearts Club Speak Easy.

香蕉视频直播淭he feedback has been amazing,香蕉视频直播 she said. One of the songs, Emotionally, has received radio play since its release, and fans have been commenting on her YouTube videos.

She said all the songs are original compositions. She describes her musical style as dark pop or metalcore. This is a departure from her earlier sound.

In the spring of 2021, she released a cover of I Think We香蕉视频直播檙e Alone Now, a song originally recorded by Tommy James and the Shondelles in 1967 and covered by Tiffany in 1987.

Nicole is now looking for a manager and booking agent as she works to promote her musical career.
