After of bodies being recovered on Okanagan Lake the past week, police are urging caution for those on the water.
As the summer temperatures rise and more people head out to enjoy local lakes and rivers, the Vernon North Okanagan RMCP is reminding everyone to stay safe on the water.
"We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable summer," said Const. Chris Terleski, media relations officer. "A day on the water can turn tragic in an instant if safety isn香蕉视频直播檛 taken seriously. Make smart choices and look out for each other."
Boaters are encouraged to review the , which outlines the rules, responsibilities and essential safety tips for recreational boaters.
On May 31, the body of a woman was recovered on the Vernon side of Okanagan Lake and two days later, June 2, Kelowna RCMP recovered a man's body from the lake.
"The beauty of our lakes and rivers can sometimes mask inherent dangers," said Cpl. Allison Konsmo with Kelowna RCMP. "We urge everyone to make water safety a top priority this season by following simple, yet critical, guidelines."
