In loving memory ~

Garry was born in North Vancouver General Hospital on May 30, 1956, the youngest child in his family. He spent his adolescent and early teen years living with his parents at various locations around North Vancouver. He often travelled during the summer holidays to the Okanagan Valley, which he came to love and would make his future home.

In 1971, Garry moved with his parents to the newly built townsite of Mackenzie, BC during the height of BC's pulp & paper and lumber industry. A few short years later he found himself working in one of the sawmills in Mackenzie. However, he soon grew restless and moved on his own back down to the lower mainland. He found employment in the sawmill industry once again and lived in Surrey and the Queensborough area of New Westminster.

In the late 1990's, Garry made the move to what became his home city, Westbank, now part of West Kelowna. Garry worked at Tappers Pub, and for the last 14 years at the RMD Group at their Marina and the West Eagle Campground, until his retirement. Garry loved to walk all over the general area of Westbank. He also loved animals, and he often took his friend's dog Chief along with him.

Garry was pre-deceased by his mother and father Barbara and Roy of Westbank, and his next older brother Bill of Port Coquitlam. He is survived by his oldest brother Wayne of Chilliwack, and his older sister Sharon Halmans of Abbotsford, plus many cousins, nieces and nephews throughout British Columbia.

Garry made many good friends during his years in Westbank and West Kelowna. He was a free spirit, a kind man and always ready to help when asked. He will be missed by many.
