The 2023 Everest Canadian Senior Women香蕉视频直播檚 and Men香蕉视频直播檚 Curling Championships wrapped up at the Vernon Curling Club Saturday, Dec. 9, with Nova Scotia taking the gold medal in the men香蕉视频直播檚 division and team Ontario securing gold in the women香蕉视频直播檚 division.
On the men香蕉视频直播檚 side, Nova Scotia won the championship Saturday morning by defeating Saskatchewan 4-3. Led by Kris Granchelli, Nova Scotia scored two points in the first end, one in the fifth end and another in the eighth and final end to secure victory.
Manitoba and New Brunswick battled for the bronze medal on the men香蕉视频直播檚 side, with Manitoba winning by a score of 8-5, highlighted by three points in the sixth end.
The women competed in the afternoon Saturday, and it was Julie McMullin香蕉视频直播檚 Ontario team defeating Saskatchewan 10-4 to win the championship. Ontario finished the match strong, scoring two in the fifth end and three in both the sixth and seventh ends. Neither team scored points in the final end.
While the gold medal match was playing out, the B.C. women香蕉视频直播檚 team was earning the bronze medal over Alberta. B.C. won the match 7-3, scoring three in the seventh end.
As the gold medal winners in the Everest championships, the Nova Scotia men香蕉视频直播檚 team and the Ontario women香蕉视频直播檚 team will now represent Canada in 2024 at the World Senior Curling Championships in Sweden.
