Two Penticton baseball players are heading to Kamloops this fall to represent their home province on the national stage.

Ethan Achurch and Rhys Wyatt of the South Okanagan Minor Baseball Association (SOMBA) will suit up for Team BC U15 Selects at the Best of the West Premier Qualifier showcase tournament from Oct. 2 to 5.

The local duo will be joined at the tournament by SOMBA coach and Penticton's own Thurman Matthews.

Achurch and Wyatt were the only Okanagan-based players selected for the team, according to a club list posted by the BC Minor Baseball Association.

The showcase tournament serves as an opportunity for squads to qualify for the 2026 Spring Showcase event, set for next April in Kamloops.
