Defensive back Patrice Rene and the B.C. Lions dropped a 33-27 decision to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in CFL action Saturday, July 19 at BC Place.

Trevor Harris threw for 395 yards and three touchdowns, leading the visiting Saskatchewan Roughriders to a 33-19 win over the B.C. Lions in CFL action Saturday at BC Place.

Dohnte Meyers had two receiving touchdowns for the Riders (5-1), while A.J. Ouellette also caught a TD and Brett Lauther kicked four field goals and three converts. Quarterback Nathan Rourke tossed for 337 yards and three touchdowns for the Lions (3-4). Ayden Eberhardt (2) and Stanley Berryhill III also had TDs for the Leos, with kicker Sean Whyte adding a field goal and an extra point.

The Roughriders opened the scoring 4:54 into the first quarter, when Harris found Meyers with a 50-yard deep strike TD, with Lauther香蕉视频直播檚 conversion making it 7-0. It was the third touchdown of the season for Meyers, capping a five-play, 80-yard drive.

The Lions fumbled the ensuing kickoff, and Saskatchewan's Jayden Dalke recovered, setting up a 45-yard Lauther field goal to make it 10-0. After B.C. punter Carl Meyer got the Lions on the board with a 65-yard single, the Riders launched a six-play, 70-yard touchdown drive, with Harris rolling right to find Oullette for a seven-yard TD at 12:07. Lauther's convert made it 17-1.

At that point, the Lions had a -41 point differential in the first quarter of games this season, the worst in the league.

With 21 seconds left in the quarter, Rourke capped a five-play, 83-yard drive by somehow eluding the Saskatchewan pass rush and finding Eberhardt for a 40-yard TD pass. Whyte's conversion made it 17-8 after 15 minutes.

In the second quarter, B.C.'s Ronald Kent Jr. intercepted a Harris pass on the Lions' five-yard line four minutes in but the Lions couldn't take advantage.

Lauther (two) and Whyte traded field goals, making the score 23-11 Saskatchewan at halftime.

Just over two minutes into the second half, Harris found Meyers again after a nifty pump fake, with the resulting 25-yard touchdown (and Lauther conversion) upping the Riders' lead to 30-11.

Lauther's fourth field goal of the game, this time from 16 yards out with just over four minutes to play in the quarter, made it 33-11.

With 1:42 left in the quarter, Rourke found Berryhill (who has five TDs on the year) on a third-down play for a touchdown to make it 33-17. Rourke again performed some escape wizardry and connected with Berryhill for a two-point conversion to cut Saskatchewan's lead to 33-19.

In the fourth quarter, Rourke tossed a four-yard TD to Everhardt with 19 seconds left and running back James Butler scored on a two-yard convert to make the final 33-27.

The Lions host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Sunday, July 27 (4 p.m.), while the Roughriders host the Edmonton Elks on July 25.

NOTES: In Week 4, the Riders beat the visiting Lions 37-18 at Mosaic Stadium. Both Harris and Rourke were sidelined with injuries... Butler, who entered the game as the CFL's leading rusher, was held to just 27 yards on eight carries... Samuel Emilus returned to the Saskatchewan lineup after suffering a foot injury in Week 2 of the season. He had two catches for 78 yards... The Lions saw their modest two-game winning streak come to an end... Rourke has thrown for at least 300 yards in four of his five starts this season.
