Canadians raise awareness for prostate cancer with their favourite pattern

Some might say itÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s the most Canadian campaign in campaign history.

June 16 is Plaid for Dad day, a national event aimed at raising funds for the Canadian Prostate Association, and awareness for early detection.

For those needing the friendly reminder: thatÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s two days before FatherÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Day.

Plaid for Dad was launched in 2015 as a way to shed light on the estimated one in eight men who are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year.

On Friday, participants can wear their best plaid Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ along with their colleagues Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ and post a photo to social media.

For every #plaidfordad hashtag posted until June 18 Sanofi Genzyme will donate $5 to Prostate Cancer Canada, up to $10,000.

This year, 1,000 workplaces are expected to be participating and fundraising through barbecues and company events.
