Vernon business 'incredibly thankful' for fire response after suspected arson

Captain Dank cannabis shop appears to have been a target of arson

Thanks to the quick response of Okanagan Indian Band fire crews, a Vernon business was able to stay open, despite a fire from a suspected arsonist.

Captain Dank, a cannabis shop on Highway 97 near Westside Road in Vernon, says it was the target of arson from an individual early on Saturday, May 24. The individual was caught on security footage pouring gasoline and lighting it, causing a fire.

"While it香蕉视频直播檚 been a difficult experience, we香蕉视频直播檙e incredibly thankful for the quick response from the Okanagan Indian Band volunteer firefighters," said the owners of Captain Dank. "Without their efforts, the outcome would have been far worse, so we owe them a huge thank you."

The company is remaining open despite damage to the building. 

"Our staff has been all hands on deck working hard to keep the Captain afloat," the owners said. "We remain open, every day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m."

Security footage has been released from the incident, which the company hopes will help in catching the individual responsible.
