This historic photo of sternwheelers for moving freight and produce out of Kelowna to the south, that were replaced by of tugs and barges replaced.  The boxcars were transported down Okanagan Lake by barge and returned to the Penticton or Kelowna marshalling yards to start the process all over again. This picture was taken by the great Okanagan photographer G.H.E.
