Critical infrastructure upgrades are coming to two local community halls in the Central Okanagan.
Supported by $200,000 in funding from B.C.'s Disaster Resilience and Innovation Funding, Killiney Beach Community Hall and Joe Rich Community Hall will be getting upgrades to support their emergency readiness.
Killiney Beach (514 Udell Road) will receive a new HVAC system and a standby generator. These upgrades will ensure the facility remains operational during power outages and can provide a climate-controlled shelter during extreme weather events.
Joe Rich (11481 Highway 33) will be getting a new standby generator to support the existing HVAC system. This will ensure that the hall can continue to serve as a safe and functional space for residents during emergencies.
