The death of a 57-year-old woman is being treated as suspicious after West Kelowna RCMP discovered her body inside a home while attending a wellness check. 

West Kelowna RCMP were called to a residence off Highway 97 on May 3, to check in on the well-being of an individual. 

According to S/Sgt. Jason Smart of the Southeast District Major Crime Unit, officers discovered a deceased woman upon entering the home. 

The woman is being identified as 57-year-old Cindy Walsh.

Following the discovery of the victim, the Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU) assumed conduct of the investigation.

Police have released a photograph of the victim to help identify any witnesses who may have seen her in recent weeks.
