UPDATE: Power restored for 3,500 Lake Country, Westside Road residents

Almost 3,500 Lake Country and Westside Road residents are without power on Saturday morning, Aug. 2.

UPDATE 11:12 a.m.

Power has been restored for the nearly 3,500 Lake Country and Westside Road residents impacted.


UPDATE 8:49 a.m.

BC Hydro has a crew on the way to the scene. They are expected to arrive at 9:50 a.m.

Lake Country and Westside Road residents will have to make their way into town for their morning coffee on Saturday, Aug. 2.

Around 8 a.m., the power went out for 3,452 BC Hydro customers in Lake Country and on Westside Road from Killiney Beach down to Wilson Landing.

The cause of the outage is under investigation. BC Hydro has assigned a crew to the scene.

It's unknown at this time when the power will return.
