Kelowna RCMP confirmed a pedestrian died after being hit in the crosswalk at Burtch Road and Bernard Avenue on July 27.
The incident happened at about 11:45 a.m. and had the stretch of road closed for several hours on Sunday.
The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Services attended the scene. The file is still under investigation.
UPDATE: 9:10 a.m.
A senior woman who was struck by a vehicle on Bernard Avenue died on scene, according to a family member who contacted Black Press Media.
As the investigation is continuing into the Sunday, July 27, incident, the family member did not wish to be named, but said the woman was walking on the sidewalk at the time of the collision and may have been coming back from the bus stop as she was only a few metres from home.

UPDATE 4:10 p.m: A pedestrian was struck on Bernard Ave, prompting the closure of the busy stretch of road.
Crews have cleared the scene, and the avenue has been reopened.
ORIGINAL: Kelowna's Bernard Avenue has been closed due to a traffic incident.
The closure stretches south of Cherry Crescent E to Elm Street. Burtch Road is also closed from Bernard to Harvey Ave.
RCMP are on scene and have taped off the area to pedestrian traffic. A vehicle has been towed from the scene.
