Downed power lines causing traffic delays in Highway 33

Downed power lines are causing traffic delays on Highway 33 by Falcon Road on Saturday afternoon, May 31

Emergency crews have been notified of a report of power lines down on Highway 33 around Falcon Road.

While power is not out in the area, traffic on the highway is affected in both directions.

It's unknown at this time what caused the downed power lines, but winds have been strong in the Central Okanagan on Saturday afternoon, with winds around 50 km/h and gusts up to 70 km/h, according to Environment Canada.
