More than 70 tickets handed out to Kelowna drivers in enforcement blitz

The Kelowna RCMP's Municipal Traffic Services Unit handed out more than 70 tickets on Wednesday, June 4.

A blitz conducted by the Kelowna RCMP's Municipal Traffic Unit resulted in a variety of violations.

On June 4, the RCMP organized the traffic blitz that resulted in more than 70 tickets including:

  • 21 for distracted driving using a cell phone;
  • 22 for speeding;
  • 11 for speeding in a school zone;
  • A driver travelling 69 km/h in a 30 km/h school zone;
  • A driver issued a 3-day roadside drivers licence suspension and vehicle impoundment due to alcohol consumption in a school zone (the same one as the driver going 69 km/h.
