Chris Laurie has left the West Kelowna Warriors after six seasons as the team's president. He is now the senior vice president for the Penticton Vees.

The West Kelowna Warriors are looking for a new president while the WHL's newest team has filled a major role in their front office.

On Tuesday, May 27, the Warriors announced Chris Laurie has stepped away from the team after being president since the 2019 ownership change. In an announcement a few hours later, the Penticton Vees announced they've hired Laurie as their senior vice president.

香蕉视频直播淚 am thrilled to join the Vees organization as we embark on a new journey in the Western Hockey League," said Laurie in a Vees press release. "I think fans are going to be very pleased with the calibre of hockey and entertainment value. We have a strong history and tradition to uphold in Penticton, and we are looking forward to the challenge. The bar has been raised, and we香蕉视频直播檒l be working hard to raise the standard in preparation for opening night. I would like to thank Graham Fraser and Fred Harbinson for welcoming me into the Vees family.香蕉视频直播

In March, the WHL rewarded Penticton an expansion franchise, moving the Vees from the BCHL to the WHL for the start of the 2025/26 season.

"We took over the team in 2019 and needed to bring stability to all elements of our business. Chris was the perfect person to help us effect a turnaround and breathe new life and energy into our brand. We are sorry to see him go but wish him all the best as he seeks new challenges."

Laurie's departure is effective immediately, however, he will be helping the team in transitioning the position despite joining Penticton.

香蕉视频直播淎mong many accomplishments in his time with the Warriors Chris was successful in bringing our game night presentation to a new level," added Warriors owner and managing partner Rod Hume. "Fans have responded as our attendance is up significantly and we continually hear feedback that ours is one of the best shows in Junior Hockey.香蕉视频直播

香蕉视频直播淐hris leaves big shoes to fill but we are an organization that is committed to our mission of being a positive force in our community and we intend to not miss a beat in our relationship with our fans and sponsors," said Murphy, who added the goal is to fill the position in the coming weeks.

During Laurie's time as president, the Warriors went 142-97-21-3.
