Bringing home gold, the Salmon Arm Special Olympics bocce team certainly did not botch their time at the 2025 Summer Games.
The Salmon Arm Heroes Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ Carina Chu, Kathleen Nelson, Nicholas Anchikoski and Heather Jolliffe Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ won their division in bocce under the direction of coach Ernie Nelson at the Special Olympics BC Provincial Summer Games held in Prince George July 10-12.
The Games brought approximately 1,100 athletes from across the province, including the Heroes, which are actually a local blend of players from Salmon Arm, Enderby and one last minute addition from Vernon. Together they beat out the Creston Cherry Blossoms who finished with silver.
